Aimeos e-commerce extension 2017.07 with new admin interface
In the latest stable 2017.07 version for TYPO3 some major improvements have been implemented:
- Rewritten administration interface
- Hardened JSON REST API against attacks
- Support for Click&Collect and delivery times
- Allow custom product prices
- Design fresh-up for the Elegance theme
- 50% performance improvement on record update
The Aimeos administration interface has been completely rewritten and extended. It takes the best from the Magento 2 and WooCommerce admin interfaces and combines it with a pleasant, fully responsive theme. All panels are clearly arranged and inline help is available for each option. You can test the new interface yourself at https://admin.demo.aimeos.org
To mitigate denial of service attacks, creating new customers and orders via the JSON REST API has been limited to a few requests within a configurable amount of time. Documentation about the new API features is available in our Wiki: https://aimeos.org/docs/Developers/Client/JSONAPI
Ordering online and pick-up the order in a local store gets increasingly popular. The Aimeos extension supports this by offering two new decorators in the checkout process. The first adds a list of locations the customer can select from. The second lets them choose the time they want to pick-up their order. The Aimeos demo shops combine this in the new "Click&Collect" delivery option: http://typo3.demo.aimeos.org/demo/
For configured products, customers can choose themselves how much they want to pay for a product. Besides marketing aspects, this is especially useful for selling vouchers.
The Aimeos default theme has got a design fresh-up. It's interactive elements has been improved for mobile users and it's a strictly flat design now.
By changing the way how record permissions are checked, Aimeos is now 50% faster on updates. This can make a huge difference when importing products from ERP systems.
You can install and update any 2017.x installation using composer or the packages from the TER. Documentation for the first steps is available in our Wiki: https://aimeos.org/docs/TYPO3
